Achilles tendon support and protection

AT-1 is a specific support for problems related to the Achilles tendon. The 3D shape adapts to any shape of foot and guarantees optimal compression combined with backward and upward heel support in order to limit tension on the tendon. The two paddings on either side of the Achilles tendon compress it by reducing stress and absorbing shocks and vibrations.

Product pluses :

- Padding and shaping to stabilise the area around the Achilles tendon;

- External heel bandage that reduces stress on the tendons and stabilises the heel;

- Rigid outer bandage that increases the function of the bandage and protects the tendon from damaging extensions;

- 3D shape that adapts to the morphology of the foot and allows optimal positioning, promoting natural movements;

- Unloads the muscle insertions connected to the Achilles tendon, reducing pressure;

TYPE OF INJURY: Inflammation of the Achilles tendon, often used as a synonym for Achilles tendinopathy is a pathological condition affecting the largest tendon in our body that extends from the calcaneus (heel) to the calf muscles. Traumatic injuries, enthesopathy and tension relief due to degenerative changes, injuries associated with calcaneal spur and/or related to plantar fasciitis.

SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS: Inflammatory conditions and/or injuries to the Achilles tendon are more common in athletes, although they can occur in all individuals in the simple performance of activities of daily living. Mild 'burning' Achilles tendon pain associated with a perceived 'stiffness' sensation may mean that the tendon is inflamed. If the insertional tendinopathy becomes chronic, a deposit of calcific material tends to form, which causes pain and over time worsens, leading to the formation of a bony protuberance (calcaneal spur). WARNING: Always consult your doctor for an objective examination and to make the correct diagnosis.
