Patellar and quadriceps tendon support for jumpers
JK-2 is the most effective knee support for patellar stabilisation and both patellar and quadriceps tendinopathies, it is equipped with stabilisers that absorb all shocks and vibrations related to the patella joint. The JK-2 is the most advanced support for patella and meniscus-related injuries. It is also suitable for athletes and sportsmen suffering from both infra- and pre- patellar bursitis or Osgood-Schlatter syndrome. It is also a valuable support for those suffering from chondromalacia of the patella, a disorder affecting the posterior cartilage of the patella.Product pluses:
- Anatomically designed P-Tech pad that applies pressure in the area below the kneecap, reducing stress on the patellar tendon;
- Breathable materials with V-Tech technology, designed to provide extra comfort at the back of the knee;
- Adjustable I-Fit closure for a customised fit and improved comfort;
- Non-slip Grip-Tech closure that keeps the product in place during sporting activity;
- Semi-open design that favours supportive support and superior fit, and helps prevent slippage even under intensive competitive use;
TYPE OF INJURY: Patellar tendinitis and tendinopathies similar to JK-1, pre-rotulatory and/or infra-rotulatory bursitis which is a type of inflammation affecting the serous bursae located above and/or below the lower edge of the patella. Osgood-Schlatter syndrome (osteochondrosis of the anterior tibial apophysis) which occurs mainly in adolescence during growth: the bone structure lengthens too quickly causing joint instability, often because it is not supported by an adequate muscle-ligament structure, or due to the ossification process of the tibia out of its natural location resulting in the creation of a protuberance under the patella. Chondromalacia of the patella, which on the other hand is a disorder affecting the posterior cartilage of the patella, with the cartilage on which the patella slides degenerating into roughness causing pain.
SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS: Subjects affected by this problem are usually: those who run long distances, those who practise exertion sports, adolescents and/or people who are overweight or who have a job that involves fixed positions for many consecutive hours (drivers, lorry drivers, etc.). It is manifested by pain below or to the sides of the kneecap, perception of a creaking noise when bending the knee, swelling of the knee. WARNING: Always consult your doctor for an objective examination and to make the correct diagnosis.
