ELBOW BAND is a light-weight elbow band support that allows by means of compression, located under the insertion of the lateral (outer side) or medial (inner side) tendon, to reduce elbow tendon travel, absorb stress and consequently reduce inflammation and pain. Very light and comfortable product.
Product pluses:
- P-Tech pad, anatomically designed and applying pressure in the elbow tendon area, absorbs shock and vibration and reduces pain;
- I-Fit: Adjustable closure for a customised fit, maximum comfort and variable compression level;
TYPE OF INJURY: Specific for Epicondylitis (or tennis elbow) and Epitrochleitis (or golfer's elbow) and elbow tendinopathies in general. Epicondylitis is a painful syndrome caused by inflammation of the tendons (insertional zone) of the wrist extensor muscles, when it comes to inflammation of the tendons of the hand flexor muscles we speak of Epitrocleitis (medial zone of the elbow).
SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS: Symptoms are gradually developing, pain starts with mild intensity and slowly worsens over weeks and months, pain and swelling located on the outer or inner part of the elbow at the lateral epicondyle, pain on the outer part of the forearm, just below the elbow, pain may also radiate down the forearm towards the wrist and into the back of the hand, weak and painful grip strength, worsening of pain with wrist movements, especially with extension and lifting movements, symptoms are often worsened by forearm activities, especially twisting movements, such as when turning a door handle or opening a can.
TREATMENT OF THE INJURIES: ATTENTION: an objective examination by the doctor is always recommended, as a general rule: in the acute phase it is advisable to reduce and/or interrupt the work or sports activity that predisposed to the onset of the pathology, to use a counter-strength brace (ELBOW BAND type) that has the function of distributing the mechanical tensions of the muscles where it is applied, thus avoiding further overloading of the inflamed tendons. Subsequent physiotherapy protocols such as: Laser therapy, Tecar therapy, Ultrasound therapy, and after the reduction of inflammation, functional rehabilitation.
